How to play
Rebus puzzles are brain teasers where a word or phrase is encoded using pictures, letters, and symbols. To solve them, carefully examine all elements and understand the basic rules.
- A picture in a rebus represents a noun in its base form
- Commas before a picture indicate how many letters should be removed from the beginning of the word
- Commas after a picture indicate how many letters should be removed from the end of the word
- An upside-down picture should be read backwards
- Numbers near a picture show which letters should be used and in what order
- An equals sign between letters means one letter should be replaced with another
- Crossed-out letters should not be taken into account
- A letter placed next to a crossed-out letter should be read instead of the removed letter
- A letter above another letter is read together with the preposition “over” or “above”
- A letter below another letter is read together with the preposition “under”
- A letter placed on another letter is read together with the preposition “on”
- A letter placed behind another letter is read together with the preposition “behind”
- A letter inside another letter is read with the preposition “in”
- A letter made from other letters is read with the word “from”
- The “+” sign can be read as “and” or “with”
FAQ
- How many levels are in the Rebus game and how often are they updated?
The current version of the app contains 630 unique rebus puzzles. Each level is a handcrafted visual riddle based on the logical arrangement of letters, symbols, and images. We regularly work on new puzzle packs to keep experienced players engaged. - Can I solve rebus puzzles in any order?
Yes. This is one of the key features of the app. Unlike most puzzle games, Rebus does not force a linear progression. If a puzzle seems too difficult, you can skip it and choose any other one from the 630 available levels. - Is the game free and does it contain ads?
The Rebus app can be downloaded for free. All content (all 630 levels) is available without mandatory payments. The game includes ads that help support the project, but they can be disabled with a one-time in-app purchase. - Is Rebus suitable for children and for developing logical thinking?
Yes. The game is well suited for both adults and children who want to train creative and associative thinking. Rebus puzzles encourage players to analyze visual information and find hidden meanings, making the app a useful tool for brain training. - What should I do if I cannot solve a difficult rebus?
The game includes a hint system for situations when a puzzle feels too complex. You can reveal part of the word or see the full solution. This prevents dead ends and allows you to continue playing at your own pace. - Which devices support the application?
The app is optimized for all modern iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). The minimalist interface adapts to different screen sizes, ensuring comfortable viewing even of the smallest pictogram details.
